Local tourism leader Mary-Clare Power<\/strong> has confirmed that the name of the new tourism organisation that will cover the South Burnett will be \u00a0“Southern Queensland Country Tourism Incorporated”.<\/p>\n

The Chief Executive Officer at “Toowoomba Golden West & South Burnett Tourism” and “Southern Downs & Granite Belt Tourism” said the process to merge the two entities was continuing “but there is light at the end of the tunnel”.<\/p>\n

“The transition team have met again with all seven local government authorities throughout the ‘new’ region and about half of the industry consultations have been completed,” she said.<\/p>\n

“We have had really good feedback from both councils and industry partners on the proposed direction for the new RTO entity and everyone seems very excited about the future.”<\/p>\n

Two Special General Meetings will be held soon to wind up the old associations as part of the process of forming the new Regional Tourism Organisation:<\/strong><\/p>\n
