The Maidenwell Bull Ride – the highlight of the big “Wombat Weekend” – attracted more than 400 people to the Maidenwell Hotel on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

Publican Gavin Jones said it had been three hours of “flat-strap, non-stop” action which culminated in a tie for first place in the Open Bull Ride.<\/p>\n

2013 Australian bull riding champion Fraser Babbington tied with Gold Coast rider Reece Weller, on 83 points.<\/p>\n

Gavin said the whole Wombat Weekend had been a big success with Saturday night’s pig-on-the-spit attracting a big crowd after the Nanango Races.<\/p>\n

The hotel put on a bus to the races which catered for about 40 happy punters.<\/p>\n
