South Burnett Chorale members certainly sang for their supper, raising more than $500 for the South Burnett Food Pantry and Murgon\u2019s drought relief last Sunday (April 13).<\/p>\n

Audiences at Murgon\u2019s St Joseph\u2019s Catholic Church and Kingaroy\u2019s St John\u2019s Lutheran Church were treated to excerpts from Stainer\u2019s “Crucifixion” and John Peterson\u2019s “The Glory of Easter”.<\/p>\n

This is the second year the South Burnett Chorale has performed an Easter Cantata on Palm Sunday, under the leadership of conductor Margaret Shepherdson and accompanist Betty Birch.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast year the performance was very well received by audiences in Nanango and Kumbia, prompting us to share it with Kingaroy and Murgon this year,\u201d Chorale president Margie Williams said.<\/p>\n
