A project dreamed up by the Catholic Ladies at the Wondai parish – and quickly adopted by the rest of the local community – will see little shoeboxes full of good wishes being delivered to struggling local farming families.<\/p>\n

There are now 100 shoeboxes filled to the brim at the Wondai Art Gallery waiting to be distributed to local farming families in need.<\/p>\n

They contain non-perishable “essentials” and a heartfelt hug from the Wondai community.<\/p>\n

Art Gallery curator Elaine Madill said the project quickly spread beyond the Catholic parish and people of all denominations – and none at all – had been eager to help.<\/p>\n

The shoeboxes will be distributed via Murgon’s ‘Eat Dirt Drought” network.<\/p>\n

“A little something from the community of Wondai just to let you know we are thinking of you.<\/em><\/p>\n

When you wake in the morning,
\nA hug starts the day.
\nSo the hugs with this shoebox
\nWe send out to stay.<\/em><\/p>\n

God bless and peace be with you.”<\/em><\/p>\n
