The organisers of the 2012\u00a0Bloomin’ Beautiful Blackbutt Festival<\/strong>\u00a0are looking for your help!<\/p>\n

As part of the Blackbutt Railway’s 100th anniversary celebrations, which will be held in conjunction with the festival, organisers have compiled a collection of old photographs and newspaper cuttings which will to be displayed on the main festival day, September 8, at the old Nukku School at the Blackbutt railhead from 11:30am.<\/p>\n

However, they’re still looking for more information. If you know anyone who has worked on the railway at Blackbutt or Benarkin, or you have any stories or photographs to add to their collection, then they would love to hear from you.<\/p>\n

A re-enactment of the opening of the line will take place on the day along with an opportunity to meet up with mates and share stories while enjoying the sounds of the Wondai and District Brass band (a\u00a0brass band was playing when the rail line was opened in 1912).<\/p>\n
