Murgon businessman and president of the Murgon Business and Development Association, Leo Geraghty, was presented with the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow award by the Murgon Rotary Club on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

The Paul Harris Fellow is the highest honour a Rotary club can bestow.<\/p>\n

It honours Rotary founder and Chicago lawyer Paul Harris who began the movement in 1905.<\/p>\n

Individual Rotary clubs around the world honour outstanding individuals as Paul Harris Fellows. These people must meet high professional and personal standards and are not limited to Rotarians.<\/p>\n

Mr Geraghty, who owns Clifton Motors, is also editor of\u00a0 Murgon Moments and is active in the local Catholic parish.<\/p>\n

He was honoured for his long service to the town of Murgon.<\/p>\n

The presentation was made in a special ceremony held at Castra.<\/p>\n
