Kingaroy State High School students – and teachers – have no excuse not to keep fit with the official opening of new fitness equipment in the school grounds on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Four fitness stations – parallel bars, a balance beam, flat bench and push-up bar – were constructed this term by Year 12 students Jake Hobby-England, Jack McBlane and Alex Stapleton under the watchful gaze of general construction teacher Matt Langford.<\/p>\n

The stations were built beside an existing chin-up bar located near the practice nets on the school oval.<\/p>\n

School-based health nurse Annette Montebello said the equipment was also available for use by sporting teams, community groups and individuals – but as it is located on school grounds, permission must be sought first from the school office.<\/p>\n

She said the fitness stations would also be incorporated into school’s “Staff Well-Being” program for use by teachers.<\/p>\n

The new fitness stations were made possible by a $3000 grant from Stanwell Corporation.<\/p>\n
