Kingaroy Lions Youth of the Year Kate McCormack<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

April 4, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kingaroy State High School student Kate McCormack represented the Kingaroy Lions Club and the local region at the District Finals of the Lions Youth of the Year competition held in Gladstone on March 29.<\/p>\n

Kate won the local competition in late February, and then was also successful at regional level in Gympie in March.<\/p>\n

She faced tough competition at the District Finals held in Gladstone.<\/p>\n

The finalists included entrants from Yeppoon, Mooloolaba, Emerald and Gladstone.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Kate was not successful this time but did the region proud, performing strongly at all times.<\/p>\n

The District winner was Ellen Lynch, from Mooloolaba Lions Club, who will now go on to compete for the State title in Cairns.<\/p>\n

The Lions Youth of the Year Quest is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.<\/p>\n
