More than 30 would-be artists of all ages gathered at the old 1913 Council Chambers in Edward Street, Kingaroy, on Sunday to get\u00a0funky with clay.<\/p>\n

The result? A bunch of \u00a0terrific teapots which will go on display in September during the “Tea and Tractors” exhibition at the Kingaroy Art Gallery, part of the huge\u00a0Tractor Tattoo<\/strong>\u00a0festival of arts, crafts and music.<\/p>\n

The Funky Teapot Fun Day was organised by\u00a0Kingaroy-based arts group\u00a0Jumping Ant Arts<\/strong>\u00a0and funded by a South Burnett Regional Council Regional Arts Development Fund grant.<\/p>\n

Byron Bay artist\u00a0Suvira McDonald<\/a><\/strong>, who is well-known for his “functional”\u00a0ceramics,\u00a0showed the participants how to shape the clay sheets.<\/p>\n

The next Tractor Tattoo activity will be “yarn bombing”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jumping Ant Arts Inc, The Angel Knitters and the Knitter Natters plan to “yarn bomb” (ie. completely cover with knitting) a vintage tractor at the rear of the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre … so the needles have started clicking and clacking.<\/p>\n
