Kingaroy RSL confirmed why they’ve finished the South Burnett cricket season on top of the ladder with a three wicket win in a keenly fought battle against Wondai at Lyle Vidler Oval on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Wondai batted first, making 173 off their 45 overs for the loss of just three wickets.<\/p>\n

Will Mowburn led the way with 80, followed by James Cameron (34) and Danny Brooks (27 n\/o).<\/p>\n

After Wondai lost an early wicket with the total at just seven, Mowburn took charge, piling on the runs.<\/p>\n

Tony Dugdell (1\/11 off nine overs), Peter Horne (1\/15 off four overs) and Darren Geiger (1\/39 off nine overs) took the wickets.<\/p>\n

When Kingaroy RSL took to the crease, Wondai must have been feeling confident, particularly as early wickets started to fall.<\/p>\n

RSL at one stage were 2\/18. By the time they’d lost their sixth wicket, they were still more than 80 runs short of their target.<\/p>\n

However with Wayne Kelly (47 n\/o) steadying the ship, and Peter Horne (36) and Brady Roberts (25) making vital contributions, RSL were able to overhaul Wondai in the 41st over, finishing with 7\/176.<\/p>\n

Clayton Graham was the pick of the Wondai bowlers, taking 3\/36 off seven overs.<\/p>\n

James Cameron (2\/41 off six overs) and Chris Bodey (1\/23 off nine overs) also tested the RSL batsmen.<\/p>\n
