Today is the 45th anniversary of a famous childhood classic, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle.<\/p>\n

Children at the South Burnett Child Care Centre in Kingaroy were treated to a CD of the story read by the author Eric Carle, puzzles about the Hungry Caterpiller, craft building caterpillars and art work to reinforce the sequence, colour and concepts learned within this children’s story book.<\/p>\n

Parents can access Eric Carle on YouTube<\/strong><\/a> speaking about the book and the reasons why he wrote it.<\/p>\n

As all child care centres and kindergartens are focusing on literacy in early childhood, we have no hesitation in recommending this as a great book to read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
