Kingaroy businesswoman Sarita Shaw is looking for people who have a genuine love for children to turn their passion into a career.<\/p>\n

Sarita Shaw, owner of Like Home Family Day Care, said she was very excited that her business had been approved to provide in-home care for children in the region.<\/p>\n

She is signing up people to become the in-home “educators”.<\/p>\n

“They will provide education care of children in the educator\u2019s approved home,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs an educator you are able to be your own boss and you\u2019ll be managing your own small business.<\/p>\n

“You get to earn what you are worth and work with just a small group of children. It\u2019s an opportunity to make a real difference to a child\u2019s life.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a real career option for someone who is looking for a new direction for their working life and thinking about wanting to have their own business. They can start studying for a Certificate III in Childcare and start their business whilst studying.\u201d<\/p>\n

The “educators” will require public liability insurance, an ABN, Blue Card and have completed a first aid and CPR course.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike Home Family Day Care can help people get set-up. We help interested educators get their first aid certificate and start their certificate in childcare.<\/p>\n

“The educators are also guided and supported through the scheme\u2019s regular home visits and in-service training.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe beauty of in-home childcare is that you get to individualise the learning programs you run to suit the children in your care.<\/p>\n

“You can have personalised programs to take into account the different learning abilities of each of the children in your care.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou also have the flexibility to look after your children and others at the same time.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t have to own your own home, you can be renting as long as your landlord agrees<\/p>\n

\u201cAnything you add to your home or changes you make to fit within the regulations is all tax-deductible.<\/p>\n

“We usually find most homes, especially those of people who have studied child care or have children of their own, are already within the regulations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Like Home Family Day Care is based at the South Burnett Enterprise Centre in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n
