The Nanango and District Darts Association (NADDA) is making a strong return to the South Burnett darts circuit in 2014.<\/p>\n

The club will be taking part in this year’s Tri-Nation Darts Competition which will be held between Nanango and the region’s two other major darts clubs (South Burnett and Kingaroy) over the next three months.<\/p>\n

It will also be reinvigorating its well-known three day May Open Day competition, which used to offer more than $8000 in prize money and attracted teams from all over south-east Queensland and northern NSW.<\/p>\n

The May Open Day was traditionally held each May on the Labour Day weekend but with the State Government’s decision last year to transfer this holiday to October, the 2014 competition will move to October as well.<\/p>\n

NADDA Games Director George Finlayson said the club was looking forward to reinvigorating itself after a few years of inactivity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It has already restarted regular Monday competition nights, and will look at additional events over time as the group finds its feet.<\/p>\n

“Right now, the South Burnett Darts Association and the Kingaroy Darts Association hold five darts nights a week, and our Monday competition adds a sixth night,” he said.<\/p>\n

“So if you are a really keen darts player, right now you could play darts every night except Wednesday.<\/p>\n

“That’s great, but it doesn’t leave many vacant spots.”<\/p>\n

However the club is looking at other options. These include possible inter-club competitions with other clubs located outside the region, where Nanango Darts Club members would travel to compete one week, and those clubs would travel to Nanango the following week.<\/p>\n

Another option is more local, purely social nights.<\/p>\n

Right now the club’s Monday competition nights attract about 40 regular players, including several who travel from Kingaroy to take part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tri-Nation Darts Competition Schedule:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

  • The Tri-Nation competition will kick off on Sunday, April 6<\/strong> at the South Burnett Darts Association’s headquarters at Shed 1, 18 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • Round 2 of the competition will be held at the Nanango Darts Association’s building at the corner of Elk and George streets in Nanango on May 4<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • The final round – which will decide which club has bragging rights for the next twelve months – will be held at the Kingaroy Darts Association’s headquarters at Trades Hall in the Kingaroy Showgrounds on July 6<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
