Kerss, E. Dehnert, B. Jones and N. Whitton<\/li>\n<li>Runners-Up: Toowoomba-Cooloola team of Sue Ramsay, Margaret Podmore, Joyce McGeorge and Kay Pott<\/li>\n<li>3rd Place: Roma&#8217;s team of Jan Williamson, Val Cochrane, Gretta Park and Elaine Taylor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><center><\/p>\n<h2><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/center><strong>Nanango news:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the monthly &#8220;State Of Origin&#8221; self-selected triples match (aka Nanango versus Yarraman), with conditions of play two for an end and five for a win, it looks like Nanango will hang on to bragging rights:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Josh Pogson, Evelyn Jensen and Mike Wyvill were winners with 40pts +32<\/li>\n<li>Bev and Kev Profke and Helene Johnson came in next best with 40pts +25<\/li>\n<li>Glenda and George Wolski and Brian Dugdell &#8211; 33pts<\/li>\n<li>Joe Aglizzio, Lew Saunders and Cec Bracken &#8211; 29pts<\/li>\n<li>Bob Hammond, Bob Hall and Ben Pratap &#8211; 27pts<\/li>\n<li>Charlie, Daphne Stewart and Doreen Fitch &#8211; 27pts<\/li>\n<li>Chris McLeod, Keith Carroll and John McConnell &#8211; 27pts<\/li>\n<li>Trevor George. Sue Tucker and Brian Havell &#8211; 25pts<\/li>\n<li>Booie Lucas, Nev Lawrence and John Beattie &#8211; 22pts<\/li>\n<li>Di Currell, Jim LeCocq and Neil Currell &#8211; 20pts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>.<br \/>\nOn Tuesday, Club Championship matches were played. And in the A Singles, Bob Hall defeated Mike Wyvill 25-4 (wow, big win that one!)<\/p>\n<p>But another game of note was Ben Pratap&#8217;s defeat of Trevor George 25-22, and the final score really doesn&#8217;t do this match full justice.<\/p>\n<p>In the actual game, Ben initially jumped to a 16 to 3 lead after 16 ends. But Trevor rebounded and had levelled the score to 22-all after 28 ends. What a great match for the gallery!<\/p>\n<p>And in social play on Tuesday:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bob Hammond and Lew Saunders 34 def Joe Aglizzio and Cec Bracken 13<\/li>\n<li>Trevor George and Ben Pratap 19 def Mike Wyvill and Bob Hall 14<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Finally, in Friday&#8217;s Scroungers, the chief scrounger was Greg Pogson once again with 112pts.<\/p>\n<p>He was followed by Lew Saunders (106pts), Ben Pratap (104pts) and Trevor George (98pts) ,,, and we&#8217;ll stop there.<\/p>\n<p><center><\/p>\n<h2><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/center><strong>Yarraman news:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Ladies Club Championships are underway, and in the first round Ivy Wrembeck, Lorri Holmes, Eunice Smith and Kay Dugdell defeated Eileen Elliott, Margaret Willoughby and Sandra Currell 21-17.<\/p>\n<p>Ivy&#8217;s team will now play Gloria Anderson&#8217;s team next Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>And in Wednesday&#8217;s social games:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leo Robinson and Yvonne Schultz def Ron Lucas and Alison Anderson 18-17<\/li>\n<li>Di Currell and Roy Wrembeck drew Lola Harper and Tom Johnson 19-19<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also on Wednesday, three men played scroungers: Horst Meyer (102), Kev Profke (101) and Neil Currell (94).<\/p>\n<p>In Thursday night bowls, with conditions 1 game over 22 ends, 1 for an end and 2 for win:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winners Bev Profke and Ron Lucas def Jenny Moore and Sandra Currell 33-12 (15 ends to 7 ends)<\/li>\n<li>John Moore and Wayne Emms def Lorri Holmes and Eunice Smith 22-17 (12 ends to 10 ends)<\/li>\n<li>Neil Johnston and Arthur Smith def Kev Profke and Kenny Walsh 19-17 (12 ends to 10 ends)<\/li>\n<li>Brian Dugdell and Kerry Walsh def George Wolski and Todd Currell 20-15 (13 ends to 9 ends)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A gallery is expected this morning for the final of the men&#8217;s competition. A start is also being made on the Men&#8217;s &#8220;B&#8221; Singles too.<\/p>\n<p>Last Sunday &#8211; in one game of 18 ends with two for and end and three for the win &#8211; the winners were Neil Currell and Bev Profke, who defeated Leo Robinson and Di Currell 27-7 (13 ends to 5 ends).<\/p>\n<p>Next best were Kev Profke, Eunice Smith and Sandra Currell who defeated Kerry Knowles, Margaret Willoughby and Todd Currell 20-16 (10 ends to 8 ends).<\/p>\n<p><center><\/p>\n<h2><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/center><strong>Kilcoy news:<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Kilcoy&#8217;s Club Championships are also underway.<\/p>\n<p>In the &#8220;A&#8221; Singles:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jamie Mitchell defeated Max Morrow<\/li>\n<li>Alec McClusky defeated Jeff Welden<\/li>\n<li>Peter Bell defeated Harold Alford<\/li>\n<li>Dozer Bechly defeated Stan Valance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And in the &#8220;B&#8221; singles:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jeff Welden defeated Noel Lanes<\/li>\n<li>John Worrall defeated Kelly Charters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In Ladies Pairs, Margaret Worrall and Nelly Herbert defeated Pauline Lawson and Flora Kelly. And in the Ladies &#8220;B&#8221; Singles, Margaret Worrall defeated Fay Vicary.<\/p>\n<p>Star of the Green will be played next Tuesday between Sharon Walker and Pauline Lawson.<\/p>\n<p>In Tuesday&#8217;s Pairs, Jeff Welden and Ann Pope defeated Jenny Edwards and Flora Kelly.<\/p>\n<p>And in Three Bowl Pairs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Liz Frawley, Kathy Hill and Michael Dunn def Ian Smith, Tracey Evans and Bill Edwards 22-16<\/li>\n<li>Dave Scott, Bert Christie and Dennis Thompson def Brett Kelly, John Worrall and Pam Taylor 24-14<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The winners of the day were Kelly Charters, Margaret Worrall and Tony Gray who defeated Col Ferguson, Ernie Herbert and Noel Lanes 29-12.<\/p>\n<p>In last Wednesday&#8217;s Pub Day which was sponsored by Lance Wilson from Wealth Directions Gympie, there was a full green and a new team on the block: Mapleton.<\/p>\n<p>The Winners on the day were one of the Kilcoy teams (Jenny Edwards, Trudi Pratt, Dave Scott and Col Ferguson), and the runners-up were the Harlin Hotel team (Terry Cox, Ken Litcherland, Roy Howard and Clayton Foster).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1st Round Winners: Maleny team (Sandra Kapetonic, Bas Crain, Alan Loyne and John Kapetonic)<\/li>\n<li>2nd Round Winners: a tie between the teams from Bribie Island (Nev Linsday, Doug Walker, R Black and Larry) and Dayboro (Merv Heathwood, Karen King, Terry Morley and Simmo)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And finally, a reminder: keep Saturday March 22 free. Kilcoy are having a Social Bowls Afternoon followed by a sausage sizzle, with a 12:30pm start.<\/p>\n<p><center><\/p>\n<h2><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/center><strong>Esk news:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Esk played their Club Championship games last week.<\/p>\n<p>In Open Pairs, Ted Jenkins and Doug Laidlaw defeated Allan Cameron and Rob Horkings 22-20 (a close game, that one).<\/p>\n<p>And in Open Fours, in another close game that could have gone either way in a last round decider, Allan Cameron, Vicki Cameron, Laurie Thomson and Frank Hussey defeated Rob Horkings, Pearlie Jenkins, Ted Jenkins and Doug Laidlaw 21-16<\/p>\n<p>A good crowd also turned up on Wednesday for a game of 2-4-2 ,,, all very social.<\/p>\n<p>In Thursday night bowls &#8211; Scroungers &#8211; some visitors were checking on the Esk Scroungers.<br \/>\n.<br \/>\nOn Sunday, a full bus from Bribie came along, with players drawn into teams out of the hat. Winners and losers were drawn out of the hat too.<\/p>\n<p>Chicken schnitzel and crumbed schnapper were on the menu &#8211; they look after you at Esk!<\/p>\n<p>Coming events include Sponsor\u2019s Day on Sunday, March 23, and a bus trip to Woongoolba on March 30 for the Friendship Cup match.<\/p>\n<p>Esk won the Friendship Cup last year and hope to bring it home again in 2014.<\/p>\n<p><center><\/p>\n<h2><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/center><strong>Like South Burnett bowls news?
