Several South Burnett councillors recently inspected the work that has been done in the Scott Car Park in Henry Street, Nanango, and were pleased to hear a number of positive comments from the public, especially about the new shade sails.<\/p>\n

Ms Jocelyn Battaglene, from Nanango, told Cr Barry Green she loves the new car park.<\/p>\n

“It’s awesome, so much cooler for the groceries and the oldies love it because it is safer walking on the paths than behind cars,” she said.<\/p>\n

Ms Maria Torrigue agreed: “I love it. There are a lot more parking bays clearly marked and the car keeps so much cooler.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cr Green said he was also delighted with the car park.<\/p>\n

“More people are parking off the streets and once the new lights are installed in a few weeks it will be so much safer too for late night shopping.” he said.<\/p>\n

Cr Green said he was also pleased with the way the streetscaping was progressing.<\/p>\n

“It’s not finished yet but the traffic lights will be operational soon and the Drayton Bridge is nearly ready and more trees are to be planted in the streets,” he said.<\/p>\n

The trees were suggested by well-known horticulturist and ABC Gardening talkback expert Penny McKinlay.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m hoping she will come up and have a look once they are established,\u201d Cr Green said.<\/p>\n
