A little child’s love of gardening has been destroyed by a heartless thief<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Forget about green thumbs. It seems a would-be gardening enthusiast may have light fingers after a Kingaroy girl\u2019s collection of pots were stolen from outside her home recently.<\/p>\n

Jorja Mayhew, 5, loves nothing more than pottering around in her little garden.<\/p>\n

The prep student was given a collection of pretty pots for her birthday in August last year by her grandmother.<\/p>\n

The little girl wasted no time planting strawberries and flowers and had fun watching them grow.<\/p>\n

When the plants died, she and mum Kayla emptied them out and left them just outside their Parkside Drive home.<\/p>\n

Kayla, a single mum also to Elye, 3, and Colton, 7 months, was saving up to buy new potting mix and seeds for Jorja, when thieves spoiled their plans.<\/p>\n

Jorja woke up one morning to discover the pots were gone.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe didn\u2019t understand where they had gone,\u201d says Kayla.. \u201cShe says a naughty person must have taken them, but doesn\u2019t get why someone would steal them.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhoever took them probably didn\u2019t know they belonged to a child, but it\u2019s still pretty low to steal flower pots.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pots weren\u2019t in clear view or anywhere near the footpath, but close to the house.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll end up buying some more, but I\u2019d like to put it out there that you can\u2019t leave little things outside in Kingaroy anymore,\u201d says Kayla.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just glad it wasn\u2019t a scooter or bike.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kingaroy police recently warned residents to be security conscious after a spate of break-ins and thefts in the area.<\/p>\n
