The St John\u2019s Lutheran School community is \u00a0gearing up for a big weekend in a few weeks\u2019 time when the school officially celebrates its 25th Anniversary.<\/p>\n

The school will be holding a Family Fun Day on Saturday, March 8, from 10:00am until 2:00pm.<\/p>\n

There will be plenty of things to do including rides, face painting, displays, performances, classroom displays and food.<\/p>\n

“The focus of the day is not to be a fete-type event but rather an event for families who are new to our school community to get together and meet other families,” organising committee member Karyn Bjelke-Petersen said.<\/p>\n

“We also encourage past students and families to come along on the day to catch up, share stories and take a tour around the facilities that the school now boasts.<\/p>\n

“There are also official events such as the opening of our Middle School buildings by the Member for Nanango, Mrs Deb Frecklington. These extensions are an incredible asset to what we can now offer to our year 8 students this year.<\/p>\n

“There will be class photo displays from 1989 onwards, the opening of the time capsule, displays in class rooms and opportunities to look through our new Middle School Precinct or tour our facilities.<\/p>\n

“Our P & F members will be busy in the tuckshop to ensure fresh food is available for morning teas and lunch.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mrs Helen Folker has been principal of St John\u2019s Lutheran School since 2001 and has seen the growth since the beginning as she was also a first day teacher at the school in 1989.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have watched many of our students over the years and I enjoy seeing students develop and grow during their years in our school,” she said.<\/p>\n

“We have had previous students like Mr Greame Moseling and Mrs Sue Hyde who were students here in the first two years of our school. They are now both valued staff members whose own children attend the school.<\/p>\n

“I am hoping many past families will come to visit for the day as I enjoy hearing what our past students are up to and which directions they have moved into as adults.\u201d<\/p>\n

The wider South Burnett community has also been invited to attend the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
