The Wide Bay-Burnett Regional Organisation of Councils (WBBROC) has launched a new website<\/strong><\/a> to sell the region to the world as “The Perfect Place At Your Perfect Pace”.<\/p>\n

WBBROC is the peak organisation representing the six Councils that make up the Wide Bay-Burnett: South Burnett, Cherbourg, North Burnett, Gympie, Fraser Coast and Bundaberg.<\/p>\n

The website is the latest step in a program begun in late 2012 which will attempt to duplicate the Evocities portal<\/strong><\/a> developed for the inland NSW towns of Albury, Wagga Wagga, Orange, Bathurst, Dubbo, Tamworth and Armidale.<\/p>\n

WBBROC Chairman, Gympie Mayor Mayor Ron Dyne, said the organisation had developed the website and a\u00a0Facebook page<\/strong><\/a> to promote what the region offers with the aim of attracting jobs and families.<\/p>\n

He said the group was committed to showcasing the region on the Internet to attract people who may be interested in making a “sea change or tree change” for their family, or who are seeking to establish or expand new or existing business operations in another part of the state.<\/p>\n

While the primary audience target will be south-east Queensland, the portal has the potential to attract new residents from anywhere in Australia, or even overseas.<\/p>\n

“Since late 2012 WBBROC has engaged with key industry and community leaders to discuss how, as a region, we can encourage families and businesses to consider relocating to the Wide Bay-Burnett,” Cr Dyne said.<\/p>\n

“In doing this work we developed ‘The Perfect Place At Your Perfect Pace’ tagline and then focused on developing the website and a Facebook page.<\/p>\n

“The website provides a one-stop shop to access information about exploring the region, employment opportunities, available real estate, education, things to do and lifestyle for all six Council regions.”<\/p>\n

WBBROC hopes to use the Facebook page to encourage people to share their positive experiences about the region, providing “social proof” to back up the website.<\/p>\n
