South Burnett musician Rowan Edwards launched his new six-track EP at the Wondai Hotel and Cellar on Friday night, but it can also be downloaded from iTunes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A crowd of around 50 friends, workmates, fans and the CROW-FM 90.7 crew packed the rear deck of the Wondai Hotel and Cellar on Friday night for the launch of local musician Rowan Edwards’ new EP.<\/p>\n

Rowan, 22, has been playing guitar since 2006.<\/p>\n

He specialises in writing and recording his own songs but freely admits that conquering stage fright has been a bigger challenge.<\/p>\n

On Friday night he took to the hotel’s stage to treat his audience to all six tracks on the new EP, as well as a few of his other compositions, accompanied by Nanango musician Tony Cisneros from popular South Burnett band Mr Q.<\/p>\n

Rowan grew up in Wondai where – according to CROW-FM’s Chris “Corky” Corcoran – he’s affectionately known as “Wondai’s favourite son”.<\/p>\n

“We play Rowan’s songs on air,” Chris said.<\/p>\n

“He’s very, very good.”<\/p>\n

While Rowan now lives in Murgon, he still works by day at Wondai’s Parkside Sawmill while he continues to hone his craft.<\/p>\n
