A roadtrain will be pulling out of Murgon on Friday afternoon loaded with hope for farmers in western Queensland.<\/p>\n

The truck, organised by the Murgon District Baptist Church, will be loaded with 600+ hay bales plus three tonnes of lick blocks, dog food and chook food.<\/p>\n

There’ll even be Anzac biscuits and fruit cakes cooked by local women.<\/p>\n

The items will be delivered to Longreach where they will be distributed by the local Uniting Church.<\/p>\n

The transport and driver have been donated by St George Freightlines.<\/p>\n

Spokesman Paul Kemp told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> the response to the appeal, which has been dubbed “Eat Dirt Drought”, had been so strong that the church was now organising a second truckload to head west.<\/p>\n

The Murgon District Baptist Church is still accepting donations to purchase hay.<\/p>\n
