The Reception Room at Kingaroy Town Hall was packed with fundraisers, fans and former patients of the RACQ CareFlight rescue helicopter on Wednesday to say thank you and hear an update about the service.<\/p>\n

RACQ CareFlight’s North Coast relationship manager Angela Miles explained the changes that have been occurring over the past 12 months with the organisation.<\/p>\n

There are now four bases: Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Bundaberg and six aircraft.<\/p>\n

The service conducted 1408 medical evacuations across its network in the past 12 months, including 70 jobs in the South Burnett over the past six months and 170 over the past year.<\/p>\n

On average, the RACQ CareFlight chopper flies into the South Burnett three times every week.<\/p>\n

Ms Miles said the service now served more than 80 per cent of the Queensland population.<\/p>\n

She also explained the various ways people could support the service, including workplace giving (via automatic payroll deductions), direct debit or purchasing CareFlight collectibles.<\/p>\n
