South Burnett Regional Council says it has been busy upgrading parks and gardens across the region over the past few months.<\/p>\n

Cr Kathy Duff said the parks and gardens team had been busy getting works completed over the Christmas and New Year period.<\/p>\n

“Almost every town in the region has had some works conducted this year,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn Kingaroy, we have had works completed on the River Road toilets (and) the climbing net footings and net have been installed and are open for use.<\/p>\n

“Memorial Park play equipment is now installed and Apex Park has had a flying fox installed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have also had upgrades for locals and visitors to utilise some of our natural landmarks.<\/p>\n

“Coomba Falls has had hand rails and bottom steps installed for ease of access.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nanango Cemetery has also had work completed with an upgrade to the internal road and car park entry. A shelter, internal gardens and a water feature have been completed.<\/p>\n

Railway Park in Proston has had a new barbecue shelter constructed.<\/p>\n

Toilet upgrades in Blackbutt, the Scott Car Park and Nanango’s Lions Park have also been completed.<\/p>\n

The fences at Wondai Cemetery and Kumbia playground have been upgraded.<\/p>\n

New paths have been constructed at Coronation Park in Wondai.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn Murgon, we have completed a shade sail in Lions Park. There are also upgrades scheduled for Rotary Park in Murgon,\u201d Cr Duff said.<\/p>\n

\u201cCouncil also received a biodiversity grant from the Federal Government last year. This has allowed us to plant 2000 native trees and firebreaks have been constructed on 13 reserves and four control burns completed.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
