South Burnett community groups that want to apply to the Tarong Community Partnership Fund for assistance for their projects have only a short time to get applications in.<\/p>\n

Applications to the fund, which has given more than $1 million to community projects that benefit the South Burnett since 2008, close on February 17.<\/p>\n

The Tarong Community Partnership Fund is provided by Stanwell Corporation, which owns the Tarong power stations and Meandu Mine.<\/p>\n

Previous South Burnett projects supported by the fund include the upgrade of a heat treatment plant that will provide increased productivity and strengthen long-term employment for people with disabilities, additional critical care equipment for medical helicopters and improving a large public space by installing family friendly facilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want local groups with a project in the final planning stages to contact with us to discuss their projects and apply to the fund,\u201d Fund Executive Officer Nicole Connolly said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe kind of projects the fund supports should deliver long-term benefits and improvements in employment, access to critical services, educational opportunities and social connectedness.\u201d<\/p>\n

To be eligible for funding, applicants must show that the project:<\/strong><\/p>\n
