The Kingaroy Hospital Auxiliary Inc recently donated $1809 to the Kingaroy Hospital Renal Unit.<\/p>\n

Nurse Unit Manager Mrs Andrea Rolfe said the generous donation was used to purchase a practice arm, synthetic tummy and dialysis simulator.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe equipment will be used by the nursing staff to practise inserting needles, prior to performing the procedure on renal patients,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is important to have training aids like these, as it keeps staff up-to-date and also enables us to train new renal nurses.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kingaroy Hospital Auxiliary treasurer Mrs Alison Murray said funds for the equipment were raised from an evening function held at the Wondai Art Gallery, a quilt raffle and from donations given to the Auxiliary by several South Burnett Community Groups.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Auxiliary is most appreciative of the donations received for the Renal Unit. The purchase of renal equipment allows more South Burnett Renal patients to be treated in Kingaroy, rather than having to travel to Toowoomba for treatment,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
