Acting Inspector Mark Long<\/strong>, from Kingaroy Fire Station, was presented with a long-service clasp at a ceremony in Maryborough this afternoon.<\/p>\n

Minister for Police and Community Safety Jack Dempsey presented Mark, and firefighters from Torquay and Maryborough stations, with clasps recognising either 25 or 35 years’ service.<\/p>\n

“It was amazing to see such a wealth of knowledge and experience in one place and the fantastic job these men and women needs to be recognised and celebrated,” Mr Dempsey said.<\/p>\n

QFRS North Coast Region Assistant Commissioner John Watson said the wealth of knowledge and expertise in the region was something of which to be proud.<\/p>\n

“Firefighters in the North Coast Region respond to approximately 7000 incidents a year,” Mr Watson said.<\/p>\n

“These incidents range from structural and grass fires, road traffic crashes, hazardous materials and rescue-related incidents.<\/p>\n

“The skills and expertise of the men and women of the service have been tested time and time again and their exceptional work has saved many lives over the years.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
