The South Burnett’s run of bad luck in the Goodchild Shield continued today at Gympie, going down to the home side by 156 runs.<\/p>\n

Gympie were 7\/272 after the 50 overs with Josh Brady (94) and former South Burnett batsman Ashley Sippel (51) top-scoring. \u00a0Louis Waugh finished with 43.<\/p>\n

Michael Davies was the best of the South Burnett bowlers, taking 4\/68 from his 10 overs.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett team were dismissed for 116 in the 26th over.<\/p>\n

Young Murgon batsmen Lehman Brunjes topscored with 36 while Dan O\u2019Connor (21) and Andrew Askin (21) added to the total.<\/p>\n

Best of the Gympie bowlers was Chris Hughes who took 2\/22 off seven overs.<\/p>\n

After bringing home the trophy last year, the South Burnett failed to find success in this year’s competition.<\/p>\n

Gympie have won all three games and will host the final.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy’s RSL Services cricket club is still looking for nominations for its big Pink Stumps Day on Australia Day (January 26) at T.J. O’Neill Oval in Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The day is a fundraiser for the McGrath Foundation and the money raised will support breast cancer nurses.<\/p>\n

The teams of six must include a minimum of two females.<\/p>\n

But\u00a0it doesn’t matter if you can’t play cricket! The games will be played with modified backyard cricket rules and plastic bats and balls.<\/p>\n

Entry cost is $60 per team and it should be a huge fun day with plenty of food and drink available to purchase.<\/p>\n

There will also be an auction at the end of the day.<\/p>\n

This is the third year that the club has organised the fundraiser.<\/p>\n

Wooroolin Warriors were too strong for Barambah in their B Grade match played in hot conditions at Kingaroy State School on Saturday<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Warriors batted first and quickly knocked out an impressive target of 278, with Shane Gray (83) again leading the way with the bat.<\/p>\n

Peter Sorensen (56) and Hayden Wieck (36) also did well.<\/p>\n

Best of the Barambah bowlers were Bernard Hopkins (1\/39 off six overs) and Peter Mickelo (1\/40 off eight overs).<\/p>\n

In reply, the Barambah batsmen were all out for 119.<\/p>\n
