Interior painting and redecorating has delayed the re-opening of Ringsfield House

Painting and redecorating work at Nanango’s historic Ringsfield House have delayed its planned reopening by a fortnight.<\/p>\n

Ringsfield House closed on December 8 to allow refurbishment work to be carried out.<\/p>\n

It had originally planned to re-open on Monday, January 13.<\/p>\n

However Nanango Historical Society President Ros Gregor told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> today that painting and redecorating the 106-year-old property’s interior was taking slightly longer than initially expected.<\/p>\n

The complex is now expected to reopen to the public on Tuesday, January 28.<\/p>\n

Because of this, Ringsfield House will not be hosting any Australia Day celebrations this year.<\/p>\n

Instead, Nanango’s Australia Day activities will be held at the Nanango Showgrounds, and will follow a similar format to those held there in 2013.<\/p>\n

Ms Gregor apologised for any inconvenience the extended closure might cause, but stressed that Ringsfield is still available for bookings.<\/p>\n

“Anyone planning a function or a visit is very welcome to call me on 0418-189-820 over the next few weeks,” she said.<\/p>\n

“We’ll be very happy to help them.”<\/p>\n

UPDATED January 28: The re-opening of Ringsfield has been delayed for about another week. Ms Gregor said today putting everything back and re-hanging picture frames was taking longer than expected but she hoped the house would be fully open to the public next week.<\/strong><\/p>\n
