Police Prosecutor – and Kingaroy Rotary member – Sergeant Wayne Bushell is cooking up a spectacular menu for the night<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

January 13, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kingaroy Rotary Club and Kingaroy Police will be joining forces later this year to stage a special Charity Ball in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

This will be the first Police Ball held in Kingaroy for seven years, and organisers are hopeful of raising up to $40,000 for a proposed Palliative Care unit in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy police prosecutor Sgt Wayne Bushell will be swapping the courtroom for the kitchen for the night.<\/p>\n

Along with a team of volunteers he will be whipping up a three-course menu especially designed for the black tie event.<\/p>\n

Tickets, which will be $100 each or $900 for a table of 10, will go on sale next month.<\/p>\n

The Police Ball – which will also help to celebrate the 150th anniversary of policing in Queensland – will be held on April 5 at the Kingaroy Town Hall.<\/p>\n

Sgt Bushell said the idea being discussed was for two Palliative Care units to be established at Orana to work in conjunction with the Kingaroy Hospital.<\/p>\n

Rotary and the Police would be calling on the community to support the event.<\/p>\n

“There will be auctions on the night and raffles. We want to raise as close to $40,000 as we can,” Sgt Bushell said.<\/p>\n

The Police Ball, which will run from 6:30pm to 1:00am, will also feature live entertainment and a licensed bar.<\/p>\n

Tickets will be strictly limited to 300 and are available from Kingaroy Police Station.<\/p>\n
