South Burnett Regional Council is urging people to drive responsibly around road works over the Christmas holiday period.<\/p>\n

\u201cRoad works will continue over the Christmas holiday period and Council urges people to drive safely,\u201d\u00a0Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said.<\/p>\n

\u201cCouncil made a commitment this year to continue to repair damage caused by the 2013 floods and as such roadworks will continue over the six-week school holiday period.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe roads levy has enabled Council to contract more crews to speed up our road repairs and these crews will continue to work over the Christmas period.<\/p>\n

“We would ask all people on the road to remember these people also have families that they want to get home to this Christmas.\u201d<\/p>\n

Roads portfolio spokesman Cr Damien Tessmann said Council had scheduled some road works to be completed before Christmas, weather permitting, however there would also be projects that would continue into the New Year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have completed timber bridge maintenance on Hansen\u2019s Gully, Mondure, which has resulted in the removal of the temporary load limit on this bridge,\u201d Cr Tessmann said.<\/p>\n
