The South Burnett Thrashers played only their second home game of the season when they faced the Goondiwindi Emus on Saturday afternoon in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

The team had asked for “old boys” to come along to the game, which was played at St Mary’s Catholic College Oval, and the added crowd support seemed to help.<\/p>\n

Although they were defeated, the Thrashers bounced back from last week’s 54-point drubbing by Dalby – and their 68-point loss against Goondiwindi in April – to hold the Emus to a much more respectable margin.<\/p>\n

Goondiwindi were victors 34-10.<\/p>\n

Next week, the Thrashers come up against the Condamine Cods who defeated them 38-12 in Round 3 of the Downs Rugby Union B Grade competition.<\/p>\n
