Christmas spirit took over the heart of Murgon on Friday night with hundreds of people turning out for the town’s annual festive celebration.<\/p>\n

Free entertainment was provided by the Wondai and District Town Band as well as the \u00a0South Burnett Community Orchestra’s string ensemble.<\/p>\n

The hundreds of children running around were entranced by Santa Claus and the towering amusement rides but their parents were more interested in the “Santa Grab For Cash” wheel where $6000 in prize money was up for grabs for shoppers who had taken part in a special Christmas promotion.<\/p>\n

Corky and Shazz from CROW-FM compered the evening and the giveaways.<\/p>\n

Various Murgon community groups joined in the carnival fun.<\/p>\n

Rotary’s chocolate wheel proved popular with eager ticket buyers standing by for the next spin of the wheel.<\/p>\n

And despite a heavy shower in nearby Wondai, the weather held off to allow families to enjoy a balmy night under the stars.<\/p>\n
