South Burnett CTC’s Partners In Foster Care<\/strong><\/a> agency is looking for people willing to look after local children.<\/p>\n

The agency, based in Wondai, has been holding information sessions throughout the region over the past 18 months as part of a concerted recruitment drive.<\/p>\n

Service Manager Susan Jerome<\/strong> said the latest evenings were held in Kingaroy and Wondai.<\/p>\n

“We had just three responses from the Kingaroy area and eight from the Wondai area,” Susan said.<\/p>\n

Earlier sessions were held at Nanango (18 responses), Murgon (10), Goomeri (3), and Blackbutt (1).<\/p>\n

After the information evening, people are invited to undertake training.<\/p>\n

The objective of Partners in Foster Care is to place children in homes that will embrace their culture and assist them in maintaining their social, physical, emotional and spiritual identity.<\/p>\n

The agency says it is currently struggling to find placements for children coming into care and respite options for those already in care.<\/p>\n

Susan said the she believed the campaign had now managed to hit every letterbox in the South Burnett, so she was hopeful more people would come forward to help.<\/p>\n
