December 2, 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Kingaroy Community Carols were as big as ever on Sunday night … with families on folding chairs and blankets filling the Glendon Street forecourt.<\/p>\n

The traditional gathering, organised by the Kingaroy and District Ministers Association, is an interdenominational celebration of \u00a0the birth of Jesus.<\/p>\n

Classical music set the scene as the sun set before performances by the Kingaroy State High School stage band, Sing Australia and the South Burnett Youth Choir.<\/p>\n

The large crowd, many waving glow sticks, were encouraged to join in with the traditional Christmas hymns.<\/p>\n

“Mary”, “Joseph” and the “baby Jesus” also put in a special appearance.<\/p>\n

The evening, which was compered by Pastor Cameron Rub from the Highway Christian Church, was a fundraiser to support local school chaplaincy programs.<\/p>\n

Christmas carols also feature on the events calendar for other towns around the region.<\/p>\n

Nanango’s event was also held on Sunday night. Wondai’s will be on December 11 and Blackbutt on December 22.<\/p>\n
