Shop Locally posters will start appearing
in South Burnett shops soon<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The South Burnett Regional Council will sponsor a “Shop Local” campaign for the South Burnett’s retail businesses this Christmas in an effort to boost the region’s economy.<\/p>\n

The campaign, which features the simple message “Shop Locally – Shop In The South Burnett For Christmas”, has been prepared in co-operation with the region’s Chambers Of Commerce and business development associations.<\/p>\n

These include the Blackbutt-Benarkin Community Council; the Nanango Tourism and Development Association; Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Wondai Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and the Murgon Business and Development Association.<\/p>\n

Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said today that Christmas was traditionally a peak time for retail sales, and he hoped the posters would help drive home the message that shopping locally for Christmas would help keep the benefits of purchases working in the local economy.<\/p>\n

The Shop Local campaign will be open to all the South Burnett’s retailers, whether they’re members of their local Chamber of Commerce or not, and the posters will be handed out free of charge.<\/p>\n

“We hope to have the final posters ready for distribution next week,” the Mayor told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> today.<\/p>\n

“They’re being printed locally now, and our business groups will help to distribute the posters in all our towns.<\/p>\n

“However any retailer who’d like to have some to put up in their shop or shop windows can phone Council to find out where they can obtain the posters locally.”<\/p>\n
