Have you had a baby at Kingaroy Hospital? Then the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service would like to hear from you.<\/p>\n

Families in the South Burnett region have the chance to help shape the future of birthing services at the hospital.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, December 10, the hospital will host an afternoon tea for mothers and fathers who have previously used the hospital\u2019s maternity services or are current clients.<\/p>\n

“The event will involve brainstorming sessions with families from across the region to find out what women and the community would like to see offered as a part of the hospital’s maternity services,” Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service (DDHHS) South Burnett cluster operations manager Peta Rutherford said.<\/p>\n

“We would like to hear from women and fathers who have had a baby at Kingaroy or who have been clients of the ante-natal and post-natal care.<\/p>\n

Ms Rutherford said DDHHS would also be interested to hear about the experiences of mothers who chose not to birth at Kingaroy Hospital.<\/p>\n

“They may be able to provide insight into what made their experiences at another centre positive,” she said.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy Hospital currently handles more than 400 births each year.<\/p>\n

DDHHS identified birthing services, the Emergency Department and mental health services in its 2013 Annual Report as three key areas of the hospital need urgent attention.<\/p>\n
