{"id":51859,"date":"2013-11-27T18:54:48","date_gmt":"2013-11-27T08:54:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=51859"},"modified":"2020-09-07T13:40:21","modified_gmt":"2020-09-07T03:40:21","slug":"information-day-to-explain-new-vegetation-legislation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2013\/11\/27\/information-day-to-explain-new-vegetation-legislation\/","title":{"rendered":"Information Day To Explain<br> New Vegetation Legislation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>November 27, 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A public information session on the new Queensland vegetation management legislation will be held in Kingaroy next month.<\/p>\n<p>The session will provide an overview of the new exemptions, new mapping products available, how self-assessable vegetation clearing codes will work and clearing for high-value agriculture.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The nine new self-assessable codes are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fodder harvesting<\/li>\n<li>Thinning of thickened vegetation<\/li>\n<li>Weed management<\/li>\n<li>Encroachment<\/li>\n<li>Property infrastructure<\/li>\n<li>Clearing of high-value regrowth, Category C<\/li>\n<li>Clearing of a regrowth watercourse area, Category R<\/li>\n<li>Clearing to improve the operational efficiency of existing agricultural developments, and<\/li>\n<li>Native Forest Practice Code.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cVegetation mapping has also been simplified through the creation of a state-wide regulated vegetation \u2018base\u2019 map, which clearly shows the areas of vegetation on their property that are assessable and non-assessable under the new vegetation laws,\u201d\u00a0Natural Resources\u00a0Minister Andrew Cripps said.<\/p>\n<p>Places are limited at the Kingaroy session.<\/p>\n<p>To reserve a place, email <strong><a href=\"mailto:vegsouthregion@dnrm.qld.gov.au\">vegsouthregion@dnrm.qld.gov.au<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Officers from the department will be available immediately after the information sessions to answer specific questions from landholders.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The session will be held on Tuesday, December 10, from 10:00am at the Department of Natural Resources and Mines office in 16 Alford Street, Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>UPDATE December 2: Please note a change of venue.
