It was a big weekend of cricket in the South Burnett with a round of the Goodchild Shield being played as well as the first of the season’s two-day A Grade matches.<\/p>\n

Bundaberg proved too strong for South Burnett, who were missing some of their top players, in the Goodchild Shield match played at Lyle Vidler Oval on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Bundaberg were dismissed in the 50th over for 238. Top scorers were Luke Owen (71), Mitch Waters (40) and Chris Duff (20).<\/p>\n

Graeme Brown (2\/39), Andrew Askin (2\/46) and Brendan Weil (2\/28) shared the bowling honours for the home side.<\/p>\n

In reply, South Burnett were all out for 118.<\/p>\n

Andrew Askin top-scored \u00a0with 27, while Freddy Davies (21) and Tony Dugdell (21) both made starts.<\/p>\n

Mitch Waters was the pick of the Bundaberg bowlers, taking 4\/31 off 10 overs.<\/p>\n

Dean Krebs was also on target, with 3\/14 off eight overs.<\/p>\n

Bundaberg won by 120 runs.<\/p>\n

This is the South Burnett’s second loss in the competition, after going down to Fraser Coast on October 27.<\/p>\n

Oops … Blake Harvey wasn’t afraid to have a swing for Nanango in the first innings of the A Grade match in Kingaroy; he hit one six and was living dangerously<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

In the A Grade match played at Lyle Vidler Oval on Saturday, Kingaroy RSL made short work of Nanango, ensuring they would not have to back up again this weekend for Day 2.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kingaroy bowled out Nanango in both innings.<\/p>\n

Anthony Eden and Tony Dugdell tore through the Nanango batsmen. If the first innings, Eden finished with 3\/6 off 3.1 overs and Dugdell 4\/20 off 11 overs.<\/p>\n

The Scorpions – who played with 10 men – were all out for 79.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy then went in to bat and, with one eye on the clock, declared at 9\/170 in the 31st over.<\/p>\n

Col Huxtable top scored with 56 n\/o and Eden made 38.<\/p>\n

Dean Olzard was the best of the Nanango bowlers, taking 5\/48 off 15 overs. Michael “Freddy” Davies toiled to take 3\/58 off nine overs.<\/p>\n

Sent back in, Nanango made 81 runs the second time around and were bowled out in the 17th over.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy RSL won by an innings and 10 runs.<\/p>\n

In the second two-dayer, played at Murgon, Warriors got the upper hand against Crusaders. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the close of their first innings, Warriors were all out for 271, with Dan O’Connor top-scoring with 80.<\/p>\n

The match will continue this Saturday at Murgon Sportsground.<\/p>\n

B Grade teams had a bye but will be back in action this weekend with Kumbia facing Kingaroy RSL, Barambah taking on Warriors and Colts in a local derby against Diggers.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy RSL will play Wondai in the the final of the T20 competition from 6:00pm on Friday (December 6) at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n
