Southern Queensland Country Tourism has launched a new digital initiative thanks to funding received through the State Government\u2019s Regional Tourism Organisation Contestable Grants Funding Scheme.<\/p>\n

SQCT CEO Mary-Clare Power said the Southern Queensland Country Club was a digital communication platform that would “facilitate engagement with the destination\u2019s target audience, deliver key campaign messages and ultimately boost visitor numbers to the region”.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first phase of the Country Club project involves a campaign to generate a consumer database of subscribers via a competition to win a luxury getaway at Spicers Peak Lodge.” she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the project rolls out, our aim is to grow the membership to the Southern Queensland Country Club into a band of loyal advocates for the destination.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter joining the Country Club, subscribers will have exclusive access to custom-created content on all things Southern Queensland Country, from holiday ideas to fantastic seasonal recipes, event information, gift ideas and giveaways.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur strategy with Southern Queensland Country Club is to develop a trusted communication platform that allows us, and Country Club members, to share original, seasonal content that’s engaging and relevant to our destination\u2019s key consumer markets,” Ms Power said.<\/p>\n

SQCT was the grateful recipient of a $74,000 grant to deliver the Southern Queensland Country Club as part of the State Government\u2019s Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO) Contestable Grants Funding Scheme, to help boost tourism to the region.<\/p>\n

Tourism Minister Jann Stuckey said the State Government was proud to support the Southern Queensland Country Club through the funding scheme.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Southern Queensland Country Club is one of 22 regional projects across Queensland sharing almost $3 million through the scheme,\u201d Ms Stuckey said.<\/p>\n

“Working in collaboration with TEQ, the digital initiative is part of a broader marketing strategy designed to encourage residents in South East Queensland to enjoy a taste of country life and the natural beauty of the region as the industry works towards doubling annual overnight visitor expenditure from $15 billion to $30 billion by 2020.\u201d<\/p>\n

SQCT is the peak tourism industry body for Southern Queensland Country covering the local government areas of Southern Downs, Toowoomba, South Burnett, Goondiwindi, Balonne, Maranoa and Western Downs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
