Murgon photographers have proven they can mix it with the best after coming third in a big Sunshine Coast photography competition.<\/p>\n

The Murgon Camera Club, which has just eight members, recorded 206 points in the Tewantin-Noosa Shield competition, which was held at Nambour on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Ahead of them were Peninsula (Redcliffe) on 229 points, which has more than 50 members.<\/p>\n

In second place was Gympie (226 points) who have 40 members.<\/p>\n

Murgon member Janette Scanlan also did particularly well, taking out the hotly contested “Nature” category with her photo of spinifex pigeons.<\/p>\n

Club president Max Walters said he was very proud.<\/p>\n

“I am very proud to be president of this fine little club,” he said.<\/p>\n

“It is a big thing for a little club like us to compete on very real terms with bigger clubs on the coast.<\/p>\n

“We’re lucky to have some of the best photographers in Queensland living in the South Burnett area.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
