Jamie’s Ministry of Food Mobile Kitchen … coming to Nanango and Wondai<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Bookings opened yesterday for cooking classes at super chef Jamie Oliver’s Ministry of Food Mobile Kitchen which will be setting up in the South Burnett for 10 weeks from January.<\/p>\n

The mobile kitchen will spend five weeks in Nanango and five weeks in Wondai.<\/p>\n

Residents can sign up for a hands-on five-week cooking course – one 90-minute cooking class per week – with up to a maximum of 12 participants in each class.<\/p>\n

And while Jamie won’t be personally present, his spirit – and personal fortune – is driving the project.<\/p>\n

Jamie’s Ministry Of Food is a community-based cooking program built on Jamie\u2019s beliefs about cooking and the associated impact on healthy living.<\/p>\n

The mobile kitchen is being brought to the region as part of the South Burnett Regional Council\u2019s Healthy Communities Initiative.<\/p>\n

Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said it was wonderful having Jamie’s Ministry of Food Australia in the region.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI encourage all residents to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity and get in early,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Classes begin on Monday, January 13.<\/p>\n

The mobile kitchen will be open six days a week, with the hands-on classes led by a team of Jamie\u2019s Ministry of Food trainers.<\/p>\n

Jamie\u2019s Ministry of Food Australia CEO Alicia Peardon said she was confident locals would respond well.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know we\u2019ll have a great response from the residents of the South Burnett region because of the overwhelming positive reaction we have received from past participants through our hands-on program,” she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy teaching basic cooking skills, Jamie\u2019s Ministry of Food helps people gain confidence in the kitchen which leads to better food and ultimately better health.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe program is a practical solution to the problems of obesity and diet-related disease and is a successful response to the lack of basic food skills in today\u2019s population.\u201d<\/p>\n

Classes cost $10 per session ($5 concession).<\/p>\n

They can be booked through www.jamiesministryoffood.com<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Good Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation which has partnered with Jamie Oliver and The Good Guys to deliver Jamie\u2019s Ministry of Food throughout Australia.<\/p>\n

Queensland Health has committed funding to The Good Foundation to support the delivery of the program in Queensland.<\/p>\n

\nCourses will run between Monday, January 13 – \u00a0Saturday, February 15
\nBookings for courses at Nanango went on sale on Monday, November 18<\/p>\n

Wondai:<\/strong>
\nCourses will run between Monday, February 24 – Saturday, March 29
\nBookings for courses at Wondai will go on sale on Thursday, January 9 at noon.<\/p>\n
