Wondai Airport has a new hangar thanks to the hard work of members of the Barambah District Aero Club.<\/p>\n

Cr Ros Heit and Cr Kathy Duff did the honours on Saturday, cutting the ribbon to officially open the new hangar after club secretary Luke Radunz gave a brief speech thanking all involved, particularly the club members who willingly gave of so much time to complete the project.<\/p>\n

Luke also thanked the South Burnett Regional Council for their support and said he appreciated the good communication between the club and the council.<\/p>\n

The Wondai & District Town Band then entertained the crowd and the club put on a barbecue followed by “Camp Mother” Joyce\u2019s own plum pudding and custard and rum balls.<\/p>\n

The Wondai airport is home to the local gyroplane club.<\/p>\n

“I was invited for a spin in a gyroplane… what a thrill that was,” Cr Ros Heit said.<\/p>\n

“We flew over the Wooroolin wetlands. After the recent rain the green pastures contrasted beautifully with the red soil and the glistening wetlands, what a fabulous spot the South Burnett is!”<\/p>\n
