{"id":51164,"date":"2013-11-18T17:57:17","date_gmt":"2013-11-18T07:57:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=51164"},"modified":"2020-09-07T13:41:11","modified_gmt":"2020-09-07T03:41:11","slug":"dont-leave-it-too-late-to-nominate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2013\/11\/18\/dont-leave-it-too-late-to-nominate\/","title":{"rendered":"Don&#8217;t Leave It Too Late To Nominate!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>November 18, 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nominations for the South Burnett&#8217;s annual Australia Day awards close on December 2 &#8230; but it seems everyone is leaving it (again) to the last minute.<\/p>\n<p>The awards acknowledge and reward outstanding groups or individuals for their contribution to improving the South Burnett.<\/p>\n<p>It is an opportunity for clubs, associations and individuals to thank someone who has really made a difference.<\/p>\n<p>The awards will be presented at the regional awards ceremony on the eve of Australia Day \u2013 Saturday, January 25 \u2013 at the Wondai Town Hall.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Award categories are for:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Citizen of the Year<\/li>\n<li>Young Citizen of the Year<\/li>\n<li>Community Organisation of the Year<\/li>\n<li>Lifetime Achievement Award<\/li>\n<li>Volunteer of the Year<\/li>\n<li>Cultural Award (Junior)<\/li>\n<li>Cultural Award (Senior)<\/li>\n<li>Local Achievement Award (Town &amp; Rural)<\/li>\n<li>Junior Sportsperson of the Year<\/li>\n<li>Senior Sportsperson of the Year<\/li>\n<li>Sportsperson of the Year (Coach\/Official or Administrator)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Further information on award categories and how to nominate is available on Council\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.southburnett.qld.gov.au\/australia-day\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>website<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>NB. Nominations for Toowoomba Regional Council\u2019s Australia Day awards have already closed (October 31). \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Gympie Regional Council nominations are open until 5:00pm on Monday, December 9.
