AgForce has welcomed the new National Farmers\u2019 Federation Board, appointed this afternoon at the 2013 NFF Annual General Meeting, and says it looks forward to working closely with the group for the progression of agriculture in Queensland.<\/p>\n

Former AgForce President Brent Finlay will assume the position of NFF President and AgForce Vice President\/Treasurer Christine Rolfe will take on the NFF Vice Presidency. <\/p>\n

Current AgForce General President Ian Burnett will retain his position as NFF Director along with Fiona Simson, Peter Tuohey, David Jochinke and Les Gordon.<\/p>\n

AgForce Chief Executive Officer, Charles Burke, said he looked forward to strong leadership from the board at a time when agricultural advocacy was of critical importance to the future viability and success of the industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no doubt these are challenging times for the rural sector and certainly advocacy is crucial to ensuring our farmers and graziers are well represented at both a state and federal level,\u201d Mr Burke said.<\/p>\n

Mr Burke also congratulated outgoing President, Duncan Fraser, on his commitment to the role over the past seven months.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuncan assumed this position under challenging circumstances and at a time when federal politics was both difficult and unpredictable,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
