November 14, 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n

The third annual Zoe Girdlestone Memorial race for late models – run as a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish organisation – attracted a top field to the Lucas Oils Kingaroy Speedway last Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Ipswich driver Darren Kane maintained his winning streak, securing a back-to-back win after taking out Round 1 of the Thunder Series in Toowoomba the previous weekend.<\/p>\n

Kane set a quick pace in the 30-lap main, coming in ahead of Ben Nicastri with Matt Ingrey third.<\/p>\n

In other racing on the night, the Gold Coast’s Luke Oldfield raced home to win the Sprintcar Spectacular.<\/p>\n

Oldfield swept around the outside of Kevin Titman and David Muir to the lead midway through the feature and was never troubled, holding on for a sensational win in front of a \u00a0big crowd.<\/p>\n

Andrew Scheuerle finished second just ahead of Muir, who earlier set a new one-lap record of 12.511 seconds.<\/p>\n

It was a Lismore trifecta in the Wingless Sprints feature with Warren King passing Robert Mazzer and David Eggins around the outside in the closing stages of the feature to bag a great win.<\/p>\n

In the Lightning Sprints feature, Peter Campbell drove from the back of the field to beat home Scott Genrich and Troy Norton in a very entertaining feature race.<\/p>\n

The next race meeting at the Lucas Oils Kingaroy Speedway will be held on December 7 and will feature the V8 Super Sedans Queensland Title as well as Formula 500s, Production Sedans, Street Stocks and Junior Sedans.<\/p>\n

There’ll also be a fireworks display and Santa will pop by for a visit.<\/p>\n
