Education Minister John-Paul Langbroek<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Queensland school leavers will be offered fee-free training in several key skills areas from next year under a State Government plan.<\/p>\n

Education Minister John-Paul Langbroek said 11 high-priority qualifications would be available fee-free under the Certificate III Guarantee if students began their training in the calendar year after completing Year 12.<\/p>\n

Year 12 graduates would also be able to access fee-free apprenticeships and traineeships in high demand industries under the User Choice program from January 1, 2014.<\/p>\n

\u201cEligible apprentices and trainees employed in high priority industries such as construction, manufacturing, automotive and community services will not have to pay student fees, which can act as a barrier for young people to complete their training,\u201d Mr Langbroek said.<\/p>\n

The 11 Certificate III qualifications available fee-free under the Certificate 3 Guarantee from January 1 for 2013 Year 12 graduates are:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Manufacturing Technology<\/li>\n
  • Laboratory Skills<\/li>\n
  • Drilling Oil\/Gas (On Shore)<\/li>\n
  • Arboriculture<\/li>\n
  • Landscape Construction<\/li>\n
  • Parks and Gardens<\/li>\n
  • Water Operations<\/li>\n
  • Aged Care<\/li>\n
  • Home and Community Care<\/li>\n
  • Children\u2019s Services<\/li>\n
  • Disability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    \u201cYear 12 graduates now have an extra incentive to continue their studies in these areas that are critical to the future of Queensland\u2019s economy,\u201d Mr Langbroek said.<\/p>\n

    \u201cI would urge this year\u2019s Year 12s to consider taking up this offer which not only covers a wide range of qualifications but offers training from both public and private training providers.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
