Bert Button ... leading poll<\/figcaption><\/figure>November 9, 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the close of counting this evening it looks like former long-standing Cherbourg councillor Bert Button – who missed out on a position at the last election – will top the poll in today’s by-election ballot.<\/p>\n

The by-election was caused by the resignation of Cr Duncan Cobbo through ill-health.<\/p>\n

The final figures from the Queensland Electoral Commission at 7:00pm were:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Lillian Gray – 43 votes<\/li>\n
  • Bert Button – 102 votes<\/li>\n
  • J Emma Stewart – 54 votes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    There are 384 voters enrolled on the Cherbourg electoral roll.<\/p>\n

    The vote will be decided by the “first past the post” system.<\/p>\n
