The 3rd annual Motors in Motion festival at Kingaroy Airport on Saturday had motors revving on the ground and in the air.<\/p>\n

There were cars from every era, from vintage automobiles to the latest “drift” cars ready to strut their stuff on the motorkhana track.<\/p>\n

A display of motorbikes and human-powered vehicles was located in front of the Airport Terminal.<\/p>\n

The festival this year also made use of the nearby Kingaroy & District Vintage Machinery Club’s new grounds to host V8 tractors, farm machinery and a display of static engines.<\/p>\n

A fly-in attracted a number of warbirds and other aircraft, some of which were available for joyflights.<\/p>\n

And while the “big” planes buzzed overhead, model aircraft also zoomed over the tarmac to entertain the crowd.<\/p>\n

The “drifting” and timed motorkhana runs drew a good crowd of onlookers to the area behind the hangars.<\/p>\n

The main event of the day – as always – was the ping pong ball drop, a Kingaroy tradition that is always enormously popular.<\/p>\n

Motors In Motion committee president Kevin Krosch told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> he was pleased with the day and estimated the crowd “at least” as big as last year, although the gate takings had yet to be tallied.<\/p>\n
