November 4, 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was a big weekend for the local touch football community with courses for refs, coaches and a round of training for rep teams held at Kingaroy’s Lyle Vidler Oval on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Fourteen players, from as young as 15, attended a coaching course run by Gary Madders, the general manager of Queensland Touch Football.<\/p>\n

Four players also completed the Level 1 referees course run by local ref Pat Williams.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy coach Bill Johnston said teams were also gearing up for representative matches and the finals of the local competition.<\/p>\n

The Grand Final of the Kingaroy Touch competition will be played at Lyle Vidler on Monday, December 2.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, U10s, U12s, U14s and u16s will be representing the South Burnett in a Wide Bay (North division) carnival at Childers on November 23.<\/p>\n

And three South Burnett adult teams – two mixed and one open men’s – will be taking part in the inaugural Qld Affiliate Cup which will be played on December 7-8 at Carrara on the Gold Coast.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
