Wild Horse FM presenters have been going back to school.<\/p>\n

Six students are completing a 12-module Certificate III course in Media with Community Media Training Organisation\u00a0training officer Bronwen Loder.<\/p>\n

The dining room at Heritage House in Yarraman is the school room and practical work is conducted in the two modern studios at Wild Horse FM.<\/p>\n

The course is being conducted over six 12-hour weekends over six months.<\/p>\n

Early modules cover the basic essentials of workplace health and safety and media legislation as laid down by the Australian Communications and Media Authority.<\/p>\n

This month\u2019s syllabus started on the nitty gritty of running a community radio station.<\/p>\n

\u201cDevelop and extend critical and creative thinking skills\u201d opened Saturday morning\u2019s school room and \u201cPlan and prepare programs\u201d wound up the weekend.<\/p>\n

Brainstorming, Mind Mapping, De Bonos hats, and Word Salad were just a few of the techniques used by groups to counter \u201cpreconceptions and assumptions\u201d.<\/p>\n

And yes, there is homework. The first item in module 1 is a 31 question quiz.<\/p>\n
