The average overnight visitor to the South Burnett or Cherbourg is visiting friends or relatives, lives in regional Queensland, stays 2.9 nights and spends $349.<\/p>\n

Daytrippers, in comparison, are most likely to have driven from the Fraser Coast for the purpose of having a holiday or visiting friends, and spend $119.<\/p>\n

This snapshot of local tourism is provided in the Local Area Tourism Profile released today by Tourism and Events Queensland.<\/p>\n

The profiles provide key travel and demographic details about visitors to Queensland\u2019s local areas.<\/p>\n

The profiles include data on the number of day-trippers as well as domestic overnight and international visitors to each area.<\/p>\n

The data has been sourced from Tourism Research Australia\u2019s National Visitor Survey and International Visitor Survey.<\/p>\n

It has been averaged over a four or five year period to increase the stability of the data.<\/p>\n

TEQ has warned the data should be interpreted as indicative only.<\/p>\n
